Spending plans for funds raised in 2025

This year our goal is to raise £15,000 from Run Jericho to close the gap needed for investing in the new multi-use sports area. If we meet this goal, we will acknowledge all this year’s sponsors on a plaque by the new sports area, which we hope to build in Summer 2026.

This AI generated image depicts what such a multi-use sports area might look like. The plan is for the real sports area to support both football and basketball with football goals and basketball hoops at each end, .

The goal was to raise £15,000 with £5,000 set aside towards a new art mural and the remainder to be put toward the long-term multi-use sports area. The new art mural, which will be displayed soon, will greatly improve the aesthetics and appearance of the school’s exterior by giving it that Jericho vibrancy that we all know so well. In addition, the school’s new vision will be captured for all to see.

We’re happy to share that we raised £16,492.51 at Run Jericho 2024, thank you to all who made it possible!

Inspiration behind the new design

Above is a photo rendering of what we hope the new forest school area will look like.

This area is located around the back of the school and rarely used for bikes due to its location, so the rack can be located to a more useful spot, and the shelter will provide an exciting area for our KS1 children.

Plans include converting the fenced area into a sandpit, soft woodchip (or similar) base with dens and den building, seating area plus mud kitchen.

The forest school should be completed by summer 2025.

Other spending plans were for 3 large new picnic tables which were installed in July 2024 (see one of these tables in action below). At Run Jericho 2023 we smashed through our £15,000 goal with a total of £21,491.14 raised. As a thank you, we’ll be erecting a plaque in the Forest School area to thank all sponsors.
